Cyst Excisions

Minor eyelid cysts are common, benign lesions that can arise from blocked glands or skin structures along the eyelid. Excision is considered when these cysts grow, become irritated, interfere with blinking or vision, or cause cosmetic concern. The goal of excision is to remove the lesion safely while preserving normal eyelid function and appearance.

Minor lid cyst excision is performed is by numbing the area with local anesthesia and carefully removing the cyst through a small incision, often with minimal disruption to surrounding tissue. The procedure is typically done in the office, takes only a short time, and may require a few small sutures depending on the location and size. Healing is usually quick, with mild temporary swelling or bruising and excellent cosmetic outcomes.
